VBA p-code self-replication and hosts-file tampering

critical OLE_VBA_PCODE_SELF_REPLICATING_HOSTS_TAMPER

What it means

Compiled VBA/cache streams show auto-run, VBA project self-modification, and hosts-file or startup add-in persistence.

Why it fires

Some malicious Excel macro viruses hide executable behavior in compiled p-code while the source stream is empty or misleading. The detector requires the combination of an auto-run entry point, CodeModule/VBComponents InsertLines/CountOfLines self-modification, and either Windows hosts-file tampering or Excel startup/add-in persistence. That combination is not normal workbook automation and is consistent with a self-replicating macro virus.
